I must admit, I was not sure what to title this section, so I decided to use the label Her Ladyship bestowed upon me, Ms. Lori Taylor. Besides being Her Ladyship’s alter ego, I’m also the Black Girl behind the Magic on this website. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to publish my own stories. I loved to read, but never found stories starring little black girls. There were stories starring bears (The Berenstain Bears), ponies (My Little Pony), and colorful blobs (the Little Miss series), but I could never find stories about the adventures of a little black girl.

So, adult me decided to create what child me never had but always wanted! Hence, I always love a hence, I decided to create the Mini Miss Natalia Bliss, Little Man Nathaniel Dan, and Camilla Antie series (I do realize that Camilla is not a black girl or boy, but 8-year-old me created her, so she’s coming along for the ride.) It took a while, but I finally took the first step in making my publishing dream come true in February 2023 when I started Panda Rose Publishing.

The moniker Lady Lori stems from a couple things. One, my desire to combine me and my alter ego into one persona. Two, the name Lori is fairly common, and I thought putting “Lady” in front of my name would be fun, memorable, and a little cheeky. And so, Lady Lori was born!

The Lady of the Condo concept is a play on The Lady of the House. I live in a condo, and not a house, so I’m the lady of the condo as opposed to the lady of the house. When I think of the lady of the house, I think of her as the one responsible for managing the home and keeping everything together and running smoothly.

Well, that’s a lot of work! Quite frankly, sometimes I’m not up for the task; I’m too tired, too busy, or I just don’t want to adult. So sometimes, when, let’s say, the dishes needed to be done, laundry needed doing, and / or dinner needed to be made, I’d quip, The Lady of the Condo really needs to get her act together. Because, wow; what’s going on here, she’s got a lot of work to do, when is she going to get it together? And that’s how my alter ego Her Ladyship, AKA The Lady of the Condo, came to be.
